Activists demand independent security review and parliamentary debate over proposed purchase of AI-powered military software
In Poland, activists will protest in Warsaw on November 8, demanding an independent security audit ahead of a potential defense agreement with Palantir. The demonstration will focus on concerns about the security and transparency of military data; activists want the agreement suspended.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that many armies currently use Palantir software, and that Poland's cooperation with this company "is nothing new." Everything is subject to military analysis, and I await its conclusion, he added.
The Ministry of National Defense may sign a contract with Palantir. Civic Coalition MP Franciszek Sterczewski spoke of concerns about the security of data accessed by the American company. "It's like giving the keys to our house to another country," he said.
The American Palantir may soon sign a contract with the Polish Ministry of National Defense, but the planned contract is heating up. Members of Parliament from three political parties and activists are warning of the risk of losing control over sensitive military data. They are demanding an audit and will take to the streets of Warsaw on Sunday.
