Packers See Breakthrough From Former 3rd-Round Pick in Bears Win
The third-round pick powered through Chicago for 31 yards on 10 carries as Green Bay’s rushing attack continued to search for consistency.
On Sunday, October 11, Green Bay Packers running back MarShawn Lloyd scored his first two NFL rushing touchdowns, leading the team to a 31-7 victory over the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field.
Green Bay's rushing attack has struggled this season, averaging an NFL-low 60.4 yards per game. Lloyd assumed a featured role after three-time Pro Bowl running back Josh Jacobs was placed on the commissioner's exempt list.
Lloyd finished with 31 yards on 10 carries during his 27 offensive snaps, bulldozing Chicago cornerback Jaylon Johnson on a 7-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter.
Head coach Matt LaFleur praised Lloyd's 'authority' on the scoring run, while quarterback Jordan Love said, 'You've got to run behind your pads; there's always going to be an unblocked defender.'
Lloyd aims to maintain his physical edge in the coming weeks as the Packers prepare to host the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday night, seeking to establish consistency after his two-touchdown breakthrough.
