Following the shift in the Üsküdar Municipal Council's majority balance and the transfer of municipality to AK Party administration, a very strong statement came from the CHP. CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı targeted the council members who left the party to support the AK Party candidate, saying, "They have committed a far greater act of immorality than those who switched parties to vote."
Özgür Çelik, a member of the NEW Party, stated, "In Üsküdar, the election was won not by the AK Party, but by the prosecutors in Kartal and the Istanbul governor." Çelik also revealed that Ayhan Aydın, who had defected to the AK Party, called him, sobbing uncontrollably, and said, "They threatened me with arrest. I have a disabled child. Who will take care of them?"
Following the arrest of Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş and the operations targeting municipal council members, a demonstration titled "The Will of Üsküdar..." was held in front of the municipality building at the call of the NEW Party.
