Eric Zhu, a Chinese-American man from Brooklyn, reported to the Federal Bureau of Prisons on the 20th to begin serving his sentence for orchestrating a $3.2 million Medicaid fraud and illegal kickback scheme. He had previously been sentenced to 57 months (approximately 4 years and 9 months) in federal prison, ordered to pay nearly $3.2 million in damages, and forfeited $1.5 million in illicit gains.
