The Spanish Civil Guard announced on this Tuesday that a group accused of organizing "spiritual withdrawals" where allucinogenic drugs were offered to customers around the world. The organization had a town in Pedreguir, in the south of Spain, and offered guests over 1,000 euros (about $6,300) that included the consumption of ayahuasca, a cat of São Pedro and a so-called mermaid.
Spanish police raided two spiritual retreats in eastern Spain. Police arrested three people and seized eleven liters of ayahuasca, 117 San Pedro cactus plants and several bottles of frog venom. All of these are hallucinogenic substances. The retreats make a fortune selling “astrological journeys.”
The Guardia Civil has arrested three people and investigated five others in the operation against a company that promoted the consumption of psychoactive substances, among them Ayahuasca, in spiritual retreats offered in a Pedreguer chalet, where, through the Internet, packages of stay were offered for a price of between 845 and 1,295 euros.
