OpenAI apologizes for Australia Medicare hack
Speaking at a hearing before Australia’s Parliament on Tuesday, OpenAI’s chief strategy officer, Jason Kwon, apologized for the company’s artificial intelligence agents breaching government websites and accessing nonpublic data, and for taking months to notify Australian officials.
Independent Senator David Pocock also pointed out that OpenAI "still has many questions to answer" regarding the incident of OpenAI's proxy access to Services Australia's data on Medicare and other matters, as well as the delays in notifying the federal government.
