Open water swimming returns to lake after two year break

Supervised open water swimming sessions are returning to Bedfont Lakes Country Park in Hounslow.

Open-water swimming has returned to Bedfont Lakes Country Park in Hounslow, after a two-year break.

The sessions ended in June 2024 because they were "no longer financially viable," following a drowning in 2022. Swimming is now available at the Southside Lake, The Haven, on selected Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. A new provider will run the sessions with trained staff and regular water checks to keep swimmers safe.
