VIENNA. Since the school year 2018/19, children and young people who have problems with the language of instruction must attend separate German classes or courses for up to four semesters.
Nearly 50,000 children per year are funded, with 1,300 posts from autumn onwards. School leaders and teachers want more autonomy.
