VERONA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- A Oneida County man has been arrested after stealing a car and driving it through a parking lot at Verona Beach State Park while under the influence on Saturday, June 28. New York State Police were called to Verona Beach at around 6:09 p.m., where they reported finding parked in a parking space with several skid marks around it. Troopers said Joel M. Emerson, of Oneida, took the woman's vehicle without permission while she was in the water at about 6 p.m. June 28, and then he drove erratically through the parking lot. When troopers arrived on the scene, they said they found the vehicle in a parking spot with several skid marks around it.
