One in custody on charges of sexual battery on a minor
On Jan. 12, 2026, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible sex offense involving a minor. Following an investigation into the allegations, a warrant was issued for Branden D. Zimmerman, 30, of Chipley. On Jan. 13, 2026, Zimmerman was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.
