JD Vance Cancels Trip to St. Cloud on Friday, Press Conference Will Proceed with New Speaker Lineup
A White House task force press conference was called off, and no reason was given after the announcement.
Vice President Vance canceled his planned St. Cloud, Minnesota appearance Friday, the Attorney's Office of Minnesota confirmed Thursday night. No reason was provided for the last-minute cancellation of the fraud announcement event.
The White House scheduled the visit to discuss the "War on Fraud," an administration initiative led by the Fraud Task Force launched earlier this year. Vance was slated to announce alongside task force members.
Vance visited Minneapolis earlier this year addressing tensions following Renee Good's shooting and Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainments. He also played a central role halting Medicaid funding to Minnesota amid fraud concerns.
Despite the cancellation, the Attorney's Office will proceed with the press conference Friday with an adjusted speaker lineup. Republican Rep. Tom Emmer and other officials continue campaign activities as Election Day approaches.
Minnesotans have cast more than 659,000 ballots early, a 64% increase from this point in 2022, with five days of voting remaining. This record participation follows President Donald Trump's $25 million whistleblower program announced last week.
