Noah Lyles Runs a World-Best 14.67 Seconds to Win the 150 Meters at Golden Spike Meet
The American sprinter beat Kishane Thompson’s previous best by 0.25 seconds and finished ahead of South Africa’s Sinesipho Dambile and Australia’s Gout Gout.
On Tuesday, Olympic champion Noah Lyles set the world-best time in the 150 meters at the Golden Spike meet in Ostrava, Czech Republic, clocking 14.67 seconds.
The 28-year-old American sprinter surpassed the 14.72-second record set by Jamaica's Kishane Thompson in April, capitalizing on a fast start to cruise to the finish line.
Sinesipho Dambile of South Africa finished second in 14.78 seconds, while Australian teenager Gout Gout placed third with a time of 14.96 seconds.
In the women's 800m, Swiss Audrey Werro defeated Dutch star Femke Broeders-Bol, who clocked 1min 57.13sec in her outdoor debut.
South Africa's 20-year-old Bayanda Walaza won the men's 100m in 9.94sec, while Jarmila Kratochvilova watched from the stands as Werro chased her longstanding 800m record.
