Old water well suspected to be source of gas emissions that prompted an evacuation - Ground Water Canada

Wheatley, Ont. – A six-inch metal water well casing was unearthed last week in the area of gas emissions that prompted an evacuation in June. It’s believed the casing is consistent with a water well noted in historical records and might be the source of the gas emissions. Once the well was to be cleared of debris, it was slated to be plugged by a drilling rig. The June 26 evacuation was due to a leak of hydrogen sulphide. CTV News report
