The Ministry of the Interior is drawing the attention of citizens to an important change. In accordance with European Union regulations, old-style, book-format identity cards previously issued without a deadline will permanently cease to be valid on August 3, 2026. On this date, all old, paper-based documents – whether soft or hard-cover – will cease to be valid.
