Oklahoma gives police authority to arrest illegal immigrants

Gov. Kevin Stitt signed a bill into law allowing state law enforcement to arrest individuals without legal authority to be in the United States.
House Bill 4156 will make "impermissible occupation" a misdemeanor on first offense, with penalties of a year in county jail and/or a $500 fine.
Repeat offenses under House Bill 4156 will be considered felonies, carrying penalties of up to two years in prison and/or a $1,000 fine.
