Death of Ohio University Student Under Investigation
Police say there is no reason to believe the death poses a threat to the campus community.
On Monday, the Ohio University Police Department discovered student Mason Bohm dead in McDavis Hall at the Athens campus around 4:30 p.m.
Police are investigating the "unattended death" of Bohm, who resided in McDavis Hall, though investigators have released no further details regarding circumstances.
Identified as a first-year student in the Russ College of Engineering and Technology, Bohm was a resident of the dorm where he was discovered.
OUPD is asking anyone who recently interacted with Bohm to contact Lt. MCollister at 740-593-1911 or email police@ohio.edu to assist the investigation.
Ohio University Interim Dean of Students Scott Bye stated there is no threat to community safety, emphasizing that university resources are available to support students.
