While we do not believe that the four-day extension of time for mail-in ballots to arrive has been a danger to the security of voting in Ohio, we agree that closing that window is a reasonable step in election security.

The Ohio Senate voted to require absentee ballots to arrive at county election boards by Election Day, ending the state’s previous grace period for ballots postmarked before the election.
