On Saturday 6 June in Senegal, Senegal's African Patriots' Party for Work, Ethics and Fraternity (Pastef) holds its national congress in Diamniadio in the suburbs of Dakar. For several weeks, this meeting has taken on the party, another dimension since its leader Ousmane Sonko was removed from his post as Prime Minister on 22 May. He announces as a demonstration of strength and unity.
In Dakar, this Saturday, June 6, 2026, the first ordinary congress of the PASTEF-Les Patriotes opened in front of 1,200 delegates from all the municipalities of Senegal and the diaspora.
