Officer and suspect dead after shooting on Tropicana Avenue near I-11, police say
A 30-year-old LVMPD officer and the suspect died after police responded to reports of an armed man waving a firearm, officials said.

- LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill identified the fallen officer as 30-year-old Austin Abdelnabi, a U.S. Marine veteran who joined the department in 2023 and died at University Medical Center.
