Despite the disappearance of the proposal to develop ties with Taiwan from the Mindaugas Government programme, Davidas Matulenis, Chief National Security Adviser of the President, claims that the objectives of economic cooperation with the island remain valid.
Although the new government's program no longer includes a provision on relations with Taiwan, the president's chief advisor Deividas Matulionis assures that Lithuania will continue to seek to develop pragmatic economic cooperation. However, the advisor to the country's leader emphasizes that so far, these relations have not yielded as much economic benefit as expected.
Despite the absence of a sentence in Mindaugas Sinkevičius' government program about developing relations with Taiwan, the president's chief national security advisor Deividas Matulionis says that the goals of cooperating with the island on economic issues remain.
