Ofer Bronchtein, a French-Israeli citizen, died on Monday at the age of 69. A fervent advocate for peace in the Middle East, he tirelessly championed a two-state solution. This commitment even earned him Palestinian citizenship in 2011. Since 2020, he had served as Emmanuel Macron's special advisor on Israeli-Palestinian reconciliation.
"With him extinguished a humanist voice that bore the hope of peace and gave all its strength to make it happen," Elysée responded in a statement this Monday.
