N.J. man admits guilt in drunk driving crash that left construction worker dead, authorities say
A Lakehurst man pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in a drunk driving crash that left a construction worker dead last summer in Toms River, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office announced Wednesday. Douglas Smith, 52, pleaded guilty in connection with the July 31, 2025 crash that killed Allen Adams, 50, of Lumberton Township. Smith was under the influence of drugs and alcohol during the crash, the office said.
