Oakland Golf Club celebrates a century on the links - Oakland Independent and The Lyons Mirror-Sun

A century of golf was celebrated in Oakland Saturday, Aug. 8, as the Oakland Golf Club marked its 100th anniversary with a day built around both the club’s history and the people who have kept it going. The course formally opened for play in 1926, though its roots reach back to a cow pasture used for golf beginning in 1922.
