On Tuesday (April 15), New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said that although the crime rate in New York City dropped in 2025, it was still higher than in 2019, the last year before the cashless bail law was implemented; she attributed the deterioration of public security in New York City to this "revolving door" bail law, and that district attorneys in various parts of the city made the revolving door "spin faster."
