Nvidia Director Resigns After Decade, Leaves with $26M in Stock
Persis Drell resigned after over 10 years on Nvidia's board to pursue a new professional opportunity, holding nearly $26 million in shares, the company said.
Persis Drell resigned on Wednesday from Nvidia's board effective January 20, 2026, after just over a decade, the SEC filing said.
Nvidia said the move was motivated by Persis Drell pursuing a new professional opportunity, and the SEC filing clarified her exit was not due to any disagreement over company operations or policies.
Drell held significant equity, owning about 143,000 shares valued at roughly $26 million and earned $344,000 last year including $259,000 in stock awards after selling about 40,000 shares.
The resignation leaves Nvidia's board with 10 directors, including CEO Jensen Huang, and Nvidia has not announced a replacement; market reaction was muted, filings show.
During Drell's decade on the board, Nvidia's market capitalization rose from around $10 billion in 2015 to over $3 trillion by early 2026, supporting governance amid AI-era refreshes.
