The price of exchange-traded electricity will soon be determined every 15 minutes, in real time, on the electricity market. The change will particularly affect exchange-traded electricity customers.
The electricity market is being adjusted to be more suitable for production. Finland already switched to a 15-minute imbalance settlement period last year.
The reform will introduce 96 prices per day into the electricity exchange, but it is not expected to increase the average price or increase large price fluctuations.
The schedule for quarter-hourly prices was confirmed today. Exchange electricity customers' contracts will change automatically.
