Institutional data on healthcare-associated infections have become public. According to a statement from the National Center for Public Health and Pharmacy (NNGYK) on Friday, it has developed a data reporting system that simultaneously serves transparency, professional feedback, institutional self-evaluation and, above all, the further strengthening of patient safety.
In a complete reversal of its previous secrecy, the National Center for Public Health and Pharmacy on Thursday evening made its database of hospital infections public and searchable on an interactive interface. These infections cause unnecessary suffering and serious complications to thousands of hospital patients every year, but their spread has not been curbed so far.
As the first step in government measures aimed at reducing hospital infections, domestic hospital infection data has been made public on the website of the National Center for Public Health and Pharmacy (NNGYK), Health Minister Zsolt Hegedűs announced on Facebook.
Institutional data on healthcare-associated infections are publicly available.
The figures published so far are not suitable for determining where the risk of infection is lower or higher. These data only provide an initial "finding" of hospital infections.
