OSLO - Norway's parliament is poised to reject campaigners' calls to instruct its $1.8 trillion wealth fund to boycott any company selling products and services in the occupied Palestinian territories, according to a person familiar with the process.
Norway's sovereign wealth fund, one of the largest in the world, will only boycott companies that "actually violate international law" - and not every presence in the Judea and Samaria territories will lead to a boycott.
The majority of the Norwegian parliament's budget committee rejects ordering the country's oil fund to boycott companies that sell goods and services in the occupied Palestinian territories. Only companies that can be directly linked to violations of international law may be boycotted.
