North Korea scraps all economic cooperation with South Korea
- North Korea's Supreme People's Assembly has voted to scrap all agreements with South Korea on promoting economic cooperation, including laws governing ties with Seoul and the Mount Kumgang tourism project.
- The project to the scenic mountain, which drew nearly 2 million South Korean visitors, was suspended in 2008 following the shooting and killing of a South Korean tourist by North Korean guards.
- South Korea's Unification Ministry views the North's action as unsurprising, further isolating the country, and does not recognize the unilateral move.
