US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Monday that Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro needs to be “gone” from power, in one of the clearest indications yet that Washington is seeking a change of leadership in Caracas.
The U.S. is taking tough action against Venezuela – so far with the reference to alleged drug offences. Now, however, Homeland Security Minister Noem is talking about Fox News, which is actually behind the escalation.
This was the most significant US demand so far for a change of power in Venezuela. The Kremlin, in turn, secures Venezuela "unrestricted support"
