WNBA Champion Aces Not Invited to White House
The team said it considered a museum visit in Washington, but scheduling conflicts ruled out the alternate celebration.
The Las Vegas Aces did not receive an invitation to the White House after winning the 2025 WNBA championship, marking the first time the franchise has claimed a title without visiting the executive estate.
Championship sports teams have traditionally visited 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., but no NBA or WNBA teams have received invitations during President Donald Trump's second term; Trump joked he would "probably be impeached" for failing to invite the USA women's hockey team.
The New York Liberty, 2024 champions, lacked an invitation and instead met with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, while the Aces dominated the Phoenix Mercury 4-0 in the first-ever best-of-seven WNBA Finals.
Scheduling conflicts prevented the Aces from visiting the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington during their upcoming July 22 game against the Washington Mystics.
In Las Vegas next month, rapper Flavor Flav will host an event to celebrate champions in women's sport, while the WNBA is considering adding USA250 patches to jerseys for the upcoming All-Star game in Chicago.
