US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said Wednesday that his department had cut 20 percent of US admirals, generals and officers who did not fit his vision. "Simple translation of that: no fatties, no trannies, no beardos, no weirdos, no wimps, no radicals. Just warriors – just tough, ready, committed troops," he said.
The sweeping changes in the military's leadership were announced Wednesday at the Quantico base by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The Pentagon chief rejected media criticism that the move was a purge, saying it was long-overdue accountability.
The Pentagon is cutting about 20% of the generals and admirals in the US armed forces. This was announced by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegsett during a speech in Virginia. Ten percent of the top military have been fired. The department has also reduced the total number of posts for generals and admirals by another 10%.
