A state grand jury has voted not to file charges against corrections officers in the case of an inmate who died a day after he was stabbed in his jail cell. The attack happened at Essex County Correctional Facility on the night of Dec. 2, 2021. The inmate, Daniel Gelin, 27, of Elizabeth, received in-house medical care and died the next morning, authorities said.
