No. 9 Virginia Shows Off Its Balance with 5 in Double Figures in a 91-72 Win over No. 12 Arkansas
On Sunday, No. 9 Virginia defeated No. 12 Arkansas 91-72 at the Capital Showcase in Washington, with all five Cavalier starters scoring in double figures.
The Cavaliers finished the first half with an 11-2 run to build a 46-27 lead at the break, establishing early dominance against the physical Razorbacks.
Virginia sank 12 three-pointers while shooting 37.5% from beyond the arc and compiled a 24-6 advantage in points off turnovers; Johann Grunloh contributed 15 points and five blocks.
The Razorbacks struggled defensively, not reaching their 60th point until just over five minutes remained in the game, marking Virginia's first marquee win of the season.
If Virginia continues this trajectory, the team could reach a top-five ranking before facing UConn in New York City in late December.
