Nita Ambani announces 100-acre lifelong care home for orphans, seniors, disabled people
The Reliance Foundation project will house more than 5,000 residents and provide medical, rehabilitation and vocational services in family-style homes.
On Sunday, Reliance Foundation Founder and Chairperson Nita Ambani performed the groundbreaking ceremony for Nita Mukesh Ambani Anant Ashray, a not-for-profit initiative in Karjat near Mumbai.
Spread across approximately 100 acres, the township will provide a lifelong home for over 5,000 residents while supporting a total community of approximately 15,000 people including caregivers and medical professionals.
The development will comprise eight residential villages featuring family-style homes, specialized healthcare, and vocational training, with an animal companionship farm developed with expertise from Vantara.
Ambani said parents who worry about their children's future "can find peace in knowing that their child will always have a home and a family of their own," addressing families with limited access to long-term care.
Around 1,000 people from the region are expected to access therapy, education, and employment opportunities as the project extends selected services to neighbouring villages and districts.
