Nine people, including the captain and a company official, have been arrested in connection with the ship accident off the coast of Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus that killed eight people. While search efforts continue for the 18 missing people, passengers have recounted the events of the accident.
The captain and crew members claimed that the incident began when the bow of the Filo Jet was hit by waves and damaged.
The ship is at a depth of more than 500 meters
He claimed that the weather conditions did not present a problem during departure and that the ship had the required navigation and operating permits.
