- On Thursday, the Presidency reversed the appointment of Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman as Ambassador to Turkey after Bayo Onanuga, Presidential spokesman, had announced him among four ambassador-designates.
- President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the posting of four ambassador-designates from the 68 confirmed by the Senate last year and urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to notify the governments.
- The Presidency left other postings unchanged, naming Ayodele Oke ambassador-designate to France, Colonel Lateef Are ambassador-designate to the United States of America, and Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, former ambassador to South Korea, high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.
- Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said shortly, `Please note that there was a naming mix-up for the ambassador-designate to Turkey. The posting is undergoing review. Thanks for your understanding` and confirmed no changes to Ayodele Oke or Colonel Lateef Are's postings.
- President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who returned from a 3-week overseas trip at the weekend, is due to visit Turkey next week, coinciding with the reversal of Dakingari’s ambassadorial appointment.
