On September 10, 1864, he was born in the city of León, Don Nicolás Rangel. He died on June 7, 1935, in Cuernavaca, Morelos. He was a Mexican historian, researcher and academic. He specialized in the history of the Independence of Mexico and in the Tauromaquia of the time of the New Spain.
