Nicola Sturgeon to Teach Women From Around the World How to Lead Under Pressure
The full-day session will draw on her eight years as First Minister to cover negotiation, coalition-building and the pressures women face in senior roles.
Former First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon will teach a full-day masterclass titled 'Leadership Under Pressure: Lessons for Women in Power' in Edinburgh next January as part of the Corridors of Power program.
The Power Diaspora Forum, founded by Scottish entrepreneur Veenoo Sharma, created the five-day Corridors of Power course to 'connect women to capital, influence and decision-making power,' with Sturgeon as the first faculty leader announced.
Drawing on her eight years in office, Sturgeon will show women 'how to hold their ground when the stakes are highest' while exploring negotiation, compromise, and how political decisions are truly made.
The masterclass examines specific pressures women leaders face, including 'extra scrutiny women often face' and establishing credibility in powerful environments; organizers say the program will also feature several other former prime ministers.
Since leaving the Scottish Parliament earlier this year, Sturgeon has toured the UK and Ireland promoting her memoir, stating she is 'delighted' to help a new generation of female leaders overcome these challenges.
