- On Monday, Amazon Prime Video announced filmmaker Nia DaCosta will direct the pilot and second episode of Sex Criminals, an eight-episode series produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
- Based on the Image Comics title by Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky, the series stars Imogen Poots as Suze, a woman who stops time during sex, and John Reynolds as her partner Jon.
- Creators Emily V. Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani, and Tze Chun serve as showrunners and executive producers, with DaCosta also joining as an executive producer alongside Winter Coat Films and LuckyChap.
- DaCosta is best known for directing Hedda , The Marvels , Candyman , and Little Woods ; she recently directed 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, starring Ralph Fiennes.
- The announcement was revealed Monday during Amazon's Upfront presentation in New York City, where the company also announced the greenlight of Reality Retreat and the Season 5 renewal of Reacher.
