NHL Rumors: Dylan Larkin camp refuses Red Wings' request to further expand 10-team trade list
Detroit is seeking talks with 6 to 8 more clubs as Larkin’s camp keeps a 10-team list and a trade resolution remains elusive.
Captain Dylan Larkin remains suspended without pay by the Detroit Red Wings as his trade standoff intensifies, with the team seeking to expand negotiations beyond his approved 10-team list.
A proposed seven-player trade pitch suggests sending Larkin and unsigned defenseman Simon Edvinsson to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for 2021 first-overall pick Owen Power plus three additional prospects.
The transaction would exchange Larkin's $8.7 million salary for Power's $8.35 million cap hit while adding prospects Konsta Helenius and Beck Malenstyn to Detroit's roster.
Insider Pierre LeBrun reports the Montreal Canadiens remain the most persistent team pursuing Larkin, though the club does not appear on his approved trade list.
Interim general manager Shawn Horcoff stated the organization is willing to wait as long as necessary to secure a beneficial return, emphasizing Detroit has no incentive to accept a disappointing offer.
