In an official correspondence dated 16 December 2025, the Minister of Finance sought to clarify the country's administrative and financial situation vis-à-vis the Addis Ababa-based institution, following the out-of-context dissemination of an internal letter from the African body which referred to delays in statutory contributions, thus fuelling unsubstantiated theories based on the country's out-of-court exclusion.
