This summer looks set to be tough for the country's midwives as well. Many believe that the staffing is insufficient, according to a survey from the Swedish Healthcare Federation.
More than a third of midwives who were trained in 2019 and 2020 have left the delivery room again. This is according to a new study from the Danish Midwives Association. According to the study, it took an average of 3.2 years before those who no longer work in the country's delivery rooms had stopped. The midwives in the study cite reasons such as busyness and staffing, weekend work and high emotional demands.
