On Friday (October 17th) Deutsche Bahn is planning the brand new ICE model – with big plans for the future of the railway.
No steps, but more comfort and better cell phone reception: Deutsche Bahn has presented the new ICE L in Berlin. In December, the first trains are scheduled to go into service - with more than a year's delay.
The new ICE L rail long-distance train will be running from December, with a stepless start. However, it is slower than other models and is powered by a locomotive. Critics consider it a hoarded IC.
The train is often too late – but passengers should soon be more comfortable. Deutsche Bahn is bringing a new generation of ICE trains to the tracks.
Deutsche Bahn wants to significantly rejuvenate its train fleet. A large order for ICE L from the Spanish manufacturer Talgo will also contribute to this. It will first travel between Cologne and Berlin - and will bring with it several changes.
