The number of accidents involving cyclists in Switzerland has shot up in recent years and there are reasons to explain the rise.

Over the past ten years, the number of bicycle injuries in Switzerland has increased by 50 percent. In 84 percent of cases, these are injuries without the involvement of third parties, often caused by distraction and lack of attention.
