New Princess Diana documentary promises her own words
Love Monday and 53 Degrees Global announced The Unheard Truth, a three-part docuseries featuring five hours of previously unreleased 1991 audio recordings of Princess Diana, set to launch on Aug 31, 2027.
Doctor James Colthurst recorded these conversations in 1991 at Kensington Palace and smuggled the tapes to author Andrew Morton, who used the explosive content for his 1992 bestseller Diana Her True Story.
The recordings reveal Diana's candid thoughts on her marriage to King Charles III and his relationship with Queen Camilla, while showcasing her "infectious humour and twinkling laughter."
Contributors including Delissa Needham, Sam McKnight, and Penny Thornton join producers Love Monday in the series, which aims to challenge the reductive narrative that framed Diana solely as a victim.
Launching on the 30th anniversary of her death, the project seeks to restore authorship of Diana's life, presenting her as a resilient, perceptive woman who navigated the global spotlight with grace.
