- When officers activated lights and sirens, the driver crossed the center median and eastbound lanes before crashing into a water-filled ditch; the suspect threatened to shoot officers while motioning to his waistband, but was found unarmed and arrested soon after.
- After the rescue, the girl was placed in CYFD custody and her parents were notified, while Kyle Steven Eckmann was booked into the county jail on charges including first-degree kidnapping and child abuse.
