New McLaren 788HS marks end of the line for 750S family
The limited-run model gets 777bhp, 10% more downforce and revised chassis hardware as McLaren closes out its second-generation Super Series.
- McLaren Automotive revealed the 788HS as a 200-unit limited edition, marking the final send-off for the brand's second-generation Super Series range that began with the 2017 McLaren 720S.
- This model concludes a lineage that continued through the 765LT and the 750S of 2024, representing a total overhaul with additional power and an aggressive aerodynamics package.
- Power comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 788PS, while new carbon-fibre bodywork cuts the dry weight to 1265kg, down from 1277kg in the 750S.
- Based in Woking, UK, McLaren Special Operations will build 100 coupes and 100 Spider convertibles, with first deliveries scheduled for 2027.
- Following its acquisition by CYVN Holdings in April 2025, the company said it will "move at pace" on new product categories, with a plug-in hybrid V8 model expected later this year.
