FITCHBURG – A fatal shooting over the weekend in Fitchburg led to the arrest of a man from out-of-state on Sunday, Aug. 3. New Jersey man charged with assault in fatal shooting in Mass. city

A New Jersey man was arrested and charged Sunday in connection with an early morning fatal shooting in Fitchburg, the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office said. Jonathan Reyes-Contreras, 42, has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, the district attorney’s office said.
