'Godzilla Minus Zero' Trailer - The King of the Monsters Falls From the Sky in Epic New Trailer
Takashi Yamazaki returns with Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe as the sequel adds new cast and a new kaiju battle plan.
- Toho and Gkids released a new trailer for "Godzilla Minus Zero," the sequel to Yamazaki Takashi's Oscar-winning "Godzilla Minus One," hitting North America on November 6, 2026. The film is the first-ever Japanese production shot for IMAX.
- The sequel picks up in 1949, two years after "Godzilla Minus One," as Japan struggles to rebuild after devastating destruction. Just as the country finds fragile peace, a fresh threat emerges to upend recovery efforts.
- Returning stars Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe join new cast members including Nagasawa Masami as weather forecaster Makoto Aoyama. Kunimura Jun, Maehara Ko, and Iida Motosuke also join the production directed by Yamazaki.
- "Godzilla Minus Zero" will make its world premiere as the Spotlight Gala selection of the 64th New York Film Festival on Sept. 26. The film opens locally in Japan on November 3 as the Tokyo International Film Festival's centrepiece gala.
- Yamazaki returns to direct and handle VFX for the production, shot entirely in Japan with digital cameras certified by IMAX. The film features imagery and sound optimized for the large-format screens.
